2011 has been a very satisfying year for teaching and attuning people to Reiki.
Reiki has been a practical support that people can offer one another, especially during our Christchurch earthquakes, and to know that people can bring healing and comfort to their traumas is very relieving.
Reiki has had an early association with earthquakes. Dr. Usui, founder of the Usui System of Reiki healing, was very active in his response to the Kantor Earthquakes in Japan, 1923, where 40,000 lives were lost. His work with Reiki was recognized and the High Award of the Kun San To was conferred on him for this honourable work done in his life. Reiki continues it’s healing associations with earthquakes - in Christchurch.
